From Disney Destinations
It’s almost time for magic as Disney prepares for the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, starting July 11 with Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom and followed July 15 by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The company is taking a deliberate approach that includes limits on attendance and controlled guest density to align with guidance from health and government authorities on physical distancing. Disney is also using technology to power creative solutions as they develop new ways for guests to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth in this unique environment.
We are just as excited as you are to hear that Walt Disney World is going to begin the phased re-opening of all four theme parks and Disney resorts next month. While other Orlando theme parks and attractions are opening earlier, it doesn't surprise us that it's taking Disney a little longer to implement enhanced health and safety measures to protect guests and cast members, and as you can imagine, this is an enormous undertaking.
If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of people whose all-inclusive vacation or cruise was cancelled due to Covid-19, you're probably struggling to come up with a plan B. The hunt for hassle-free vacations close to home is on, but the search is anything but easy.
Are there all-inclusive resorts in the US?
Yes! Well, sort of. The truth is that there are plenty of all-inclusive vacations available in the continental US, but most are different from what you'd find at a typical all-inclusive resort in Mexico and the Caribbean.
A month of staying at home
While traveling for most of us is out of the question right now, there are absolutely no restrictions on planning and dreaming about your next vacation! Plus, science shows planning a trip often brings you more happiness than actually taking it! Staying at home for one month is a small sacrifice to save lives, and it can prove to be your biggest adventure yet! Here are ten ways to enjoy staying home as much as any vacation:
What an unthinkable impact these uncertain times have had on all of us. Unfortunately, travel restrictions, closures and social distancing has forced many of us to postpone or cancel our dream vacations. Never before in history has The Walt Disney Travel Company had to cease operations of the entire company for such an extended period of time. Disney is looking towards brighter days ahead and they are welcoming guests who where affected to return this summer for an extra magical vacations.
If your recent Walt Disney World reservation was affected, then you may be eligible to enjoy a special summer vacation package offer. After all, summertime is the perfect time to make the kind of cherished memories that we all need—now more than ever.
From Royal Caribbean International
Given global public health circumstances, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has decided to extend the suspension of sailings of their global fleet.
Royal Caribbean is working with guests to address the disruption to their vacations and expects to return to service on May 12, 2020. Due to announced port closures in Canada, Royal Caribbean expects to return service for Alaska, New England and Canada sailings on July 1, 2020.
Royal Caribbean implemented a Cruise With Confidence amended cancellation policy when the first suspension was announced earlier in the month. Today the company updated this policy to reflect a few changes offering even greater flexibility to guests.
The magic has been silenced. For the first time in history The Walt Disney World Travel Company has ceased operations in a effort to protect guests and cast members from invisible demon that has brought the World to its knees. Disney is first and foremost concerned about the safety and well-being of guests and cast members. It is because of this, and out of an abundance of caution, that Disney made the decision to temporarily halt operations at every Disney owned company through the end of March, and Disney Cruise Line through mid-April.
Disney's rates keep rising and vacationers keep playing the virtual scavenger hunt to try and come up with the best ways to save. Renting Disney Vacation Club points is gaining popularity among Disney visitors, especially those with larger families, as a way to stay within the Magic of Walt Disney World Resort for less. But with savings comes sacrifice. So we encourage you to research this option carefully before you rent.
Guests are not able to rent points through Disney or through a travel agent. You must contact the property owner directly, which can be risky, or rent through a reputable points broker such as David's Vacation Club Rentals. David thoroughly vets property owners and has measures in place to protect renters from fraud. Renting points through a broker costs a little more but comes with the peace-of-mind in knowing that your investment is protected.
