Disney Dining Plans Explained
Adding an optional pre-paid Dining Plan to your Disney Resort Hotel Package is a convenient way to plan out your food expenses and treat your family to a wide variety of dining experiences. You can pack your bags and head to Disney without worrying about the added expenses during your stay.
Disney provides three different levels of dining plans to suite your individual tastes and budget. Click on a link below to learn about what is included in each plan:
Whether or not a dining plan is worthwhile for you really depends on a few things like how you like to spend your time in the parks and your eating habits. Many of Disney's restaurants are attractions themselves, where you will be treated to entertainment, character interactions and fun experiences in addition to a delicious meal.

Types of Restaurants at Walt Disney World
- Quick Service Restaurants - Walk up to the counter to order or use mobile ordering where available. Guests seat themselves. Reservations are not required. Some offer beer, wine and cocktails to guests over 21.
- Table Service Restaurants - Guests are seated and served at individual tables. Most table service restaurants serve wine, beer and cocktails to guests over 21. Reservations are recommended as many of these restaurants are booked months in advance.
- Food trucks - Walk up counters that offer small plates and snack items. Considered quick service and/or snack options.
- Signature Dining Experiences - Luxury fine dining restaurants and some character meals. Most require 2 dining credits (see explanation below)
- Dining / Dessert Events - Special extended hour parties with reserved seating areas within the parks. Guests enjoy a buffet of snack and dessert options and special beverages. Most events also include private viewing areas for fireworks and shows.
- Unique/ Themed Dining - Dinner shows with seating by reservation only. Most require 2 dining credits.

Dining Credits Explained
- Guests purchasing a dining plan will receive an allowance of dining credits to use throughout the duration of their stay. (For example: 2 guests who are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel for 4 nights and purchase a Disney Dining Plan will receive a total of 4 quick service credits, 4 table service credits, 8 snack credits and 2 souvenir refillable resort mugs).
- Dining must be purchased for every night of your stay. Points expire at midnight on the final night of your stay, so you will not be able to use dining points on the day that you depart.
- Guests can use as many credits as they wish per day as long as they do not exceed their total bank of credits.
- Use the My Disney Experience App or website or ask a cast member to learn what restaurants require two dinning credits.
- Quick Service Dining = Two (2) Quick-Service Meals and Two (2) Snacks per person, per night of stay, plus a refillable drink mug for each guest eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at Quick-Service locations at any Disney Resort hotel.
- Disney Dining Plan = One (1) Table-Service Meal, One (1) Quick-Service Meal, and Two (2) Snacks per person, per night of stay, plus a refillable drink mug for each guest eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at Quick-Service locations at any Disney Resort hotel.
- Disney Deluxe Dining Plan = Three (3) Meals and Two (2) Snacks per person, per night of stay, plus a refillable drink mug for each guest eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at Quick-Service locations at any Disney Resort hotel.
